02 — THE ORIGIN
Edge Structural & Civil Engineers started in 2018 when Managing Director Jason Bluff (BSc Eng Civil, Pr Eng, 14 years' experience) noticed a recurring problem in the industry: developers were commissioning high-value projects only to find junior staff assigned without proper oversight, drawings delivered late, and firms that couldn't produce verifiable registration or insurance. Based in Bedfordview, Gauteng, Edge now serves property developers, project managers and contractors across South Africa and the broader African region — with completed project experience spanning 12 regions including Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Lesotho and the DRC. We're not the biggest engineering firm in Gauteng, but we may be the most transparent: a registered Professional Engineer leads every project, we carry R25 000 000 in PI Insurance, and we hold a BBBEE Level 2 rating that stands up to any procurement requirement. Our senior leadership team brings 13–14 years of structural and civil engineering experience to every design.

We don't hand high-value developments to junior staff. From residential slabs to multi-million rand commercial builds, a registered Professional Engineer takes responsibility for the design that gets stamped and built — because that is what your project, and your permit, actually require.
